The report focuses on informal learning and provides helpful definitions and discussion around informal, non-formal and formal learning and the relationship between informal learning and the formal and non-formal. Data on the use of digital technologies for informal learning in Britain in 2008 is provided. It doesn't go very deep into the different kinds of digital technologies and does not identify SNS as a unique item on its survey. After a brief discussion of the role digital technologies can play in supporting informal learning it identifies some of the barriors. An interesting appendix provides sample scenarios of how digital technologies can support adult informal learning journeys.
